So, you all are wondering where the survival reset is in terms of finalization, well it is just about done.
The reason for the recent delays are the EULA issues. Which states:
"No player may receive an advantage over another player by donating"
The perks everyone received through donations led to donors having the advantage over non-donors using the items received through the purchase of the donation package. Any individual perk that a non-donor does not have permission to use or redeem will not be allowed through the EULA's enforcement. Issue with this is just about everything on SpartanMC was made to be pay 2 win. With the strictness of the EULA, we were unsure on several perks that we assumed were okay as long as non-donors could receive the perk in-game via soft-currency, voting upgrades, AR ranks which was not the case. Mojang does not really care about whether the players can receive those perks in game. This was an issue so we emailed the Mojang Enforcement Team a few times trying to get an idea of what perks are compliant and which are not. We have a decent but still vague idea of what is compliant since Mojang seems to be comtemplating multiple perks and contradicting what they say by changing whats allowed and not allowed for different servers.
The last week or 2 has been comprised of going through finishing touches then figuring out how to comply in an appropriate without going through major issues. Since most of the reset was made to fit the "P2W" playstyle, quite a bit of the plugins have to be changed a bit. As well as donor ranks. Ranks are the hardest thing to figure out what to do with at this point.
Our current idea is: Global Ranks
The reason for this is since the perks have to be cosmetic, it will be a bit more reasonable to offer cosmetic perks on all servers and slightly easier to balance the prices out. This being said, there are something things that need to be handled, such as: previous donation ranks/kits(PvP).
We think it will be best to remove all donor ranks prior to the all servers' resets. And then implement them when we finish them.
For players with donor ranks currently, there will likely be a form to fill out that will be a request for enjin points in return for the rank(s) you had.
There has not been a proper system set up on it yet though but we see this as being the best idea.
